These terms cover the use of this website and the estimates requested through it. The terms of any particular job are the ones in that job’s written estimate.
Estimates
An estimate is free and carries no obligation on either side. Requesting one books nothing and commits you to nothing. The written estimate defines the agreed scope of work and its price, not work that was discussed and not written down. Scope can change after that, and when it does the change is agreed in writing before it is carried out.
If hidden or unforeseen conditions are discovered that materially affect the work (rot behind trim, for example), you are told, and any resulting change in scope or price is agreed before additional chargeable work proceeds. Nothing is added to an invoice afterwards without that conversation having happened first.
