Tell us roughly what needs painting and we will come and look at it. The estimate is free, there is no obligation attached to it, and you will get a number before any work is scheduled.

Two fields are all we need to start: your name and a phone number or email address. Everything else below is optional, and photographs help more than anything else you could send us.

What happens after you send this

  • We call or email you back to arrange a time to come and look at the job.
  • Somebody visits. The condition of what is already there sets most of the price and it cannot be judged from a description, which is why we come out rather than quote blind.
  • You get a written number. Free, and accepting the visit commits you to nothing.

If we think something should be dealt with before painting, or that a smaller job would serve you better than the one you asked about, you will hear it at the estimate rather than halfway through.

Common questions

Are estimates free?

Yes, and there is no obligation attached to one. Somebody comes out, looks at the job, talks through what it needs, and gives you a written number. Nothing is booked and nothing is owed until you say so.

Can I get an estimate from photographs?

You can start from photographs, and for a lot of jobs that is the fastest way in. What photographs cannot do is finish the job of pricing it: soft wood behind a downspout, a hairline crack that runs, a cabinet door that has been painted twice already. Those decide the number and they are found in person. So the photographs get you a useful answer quickly, and the visit produces the figure you can hold us to.

What photographs should I send?

The form takes up to five. The most useful ones are wide enough to show the whole wall, room or elevation, plus a close one of anything you are specifically worried about: peeling, a patch, a stain, a join that has opened up. A picture of the thing you are unsure about settles in one message what a phone call goes round in circles on.

When will I hear back?

We call or email you to arrange a time to come and look at the job. Answering the phone is the part of this business people complain about most, so it is the part we treat as the job. The written number follows the visit.

Does asking for an estimate commit me to anything?

No. You get a number and a timeline, and you decide. If we think something should be dealt with before painting, or that a smaller job would serve you better than the one you asked about, you will hear that at the estimate rather than halfway through.

How much information do I have to give?

Your name, a phone number and an email address, the address of the property, and which service it is. Everything else on the form is optional, including the photographs. Two of those fields are all we need to start a conversation.
