How we work

Most of what makes a paint job last happens before the first coat

We power wash and treat exterior surfaces with TSP so paint has something clean to bond to. We move and cover furniture, protect flooring, and inspect walls for damage before we start. Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are removed, carefully prepared, and sprayed in a controlled setting before being reinstalled, so they come back with a factory-like finish rather than brush marks.

  1. Set up. Interiors: furniture moved clear and covered with plastic sheeting, flooring protected. Exteriors: power washed and treated with TSP.
  2. Prepare. Loose paint scraped, exposed wood primed and caulked, walls patched then sanded and primed. Anything not being painted is masked off.
  3. Paint. Sprayer, brush or roller depending on the surface, with proper drying time between coats.
  4. Clean up. We leave the place as we found it.

We use Sherwin-Williams products. Every estimate is free and carries no obligation. We will come and look at the job, talk through what it needs, and give you a number before anything starts. More about who we are and how we prepare.

Impact painting did a wonderful job they were very communicative and thorough in their work 100% recommend!! Additional thoughts: Well it's been 5 weeks or so since completion and it's amazing the transformation. My wife and I comment to each other it's like a brand new house. Impact did a phenomenal job repairing some old plaster prior to painting. We're definitely pleased we went with them!

CASSOPOLIS, MI – There are several reasons for Impact Painting’s exceptional ratings! Owner Luke Kapala and his team provided quality SERVICE and WORKMANSHIP at a VERY FAIR PRICE! Add to that, an enthusiasm and appreciation that is virtually non-existent in the service industry today! What a breath of fresh air! I have found the team that I will call for all of our future painting projects (and there are many)! Thanks so much for helping us complete this project for my parents, and for making it such a pleasant experience! Well done!

Impact painting was quick and efficient and did a great job with our project. Luke was easy to work with, fair, and explained everything in the process clearly. The crew was respectful and did great work. There was a small area we wanted touched up and they came out right away to resolve that concern.

David is reliable, affable and affordable. I have continued to ask him to work on most of the painting projects in my house. If you want a local guy, he is very good value.

I highly recommend Impact Painting! Luke was very responsive when it came to all of my emails full of questions and concerns. He made sure everything was organized and set to go. David did a wonderful job looking at the rooms we wanted painted, the color, etc, and communicating that back to Luke. Todd & Kevin did marvelous work prepping and painting our home! We had swiss cheesed our walls due to hanging a ton on the walls, along with random cat scratches – and now, you can't even tell those were ever there! We're super impressed with how smoothly the whole process was!!

Impact painting is a great company to work with. They painted the main area and stairway of our 2 story house along with the kitchen and powder room cabinets. Everything looks great, very reasonably priced and did it all in a timely manner! The kitchen was red before and the other picture is after they finished. Thank you Luke, David and the rest of your crew for a great job!!

Luke and his painter\stainer we're fantastic. This was no little project. It's a very large raised deck and from the beginning Luke was extremely responsive and answering any questions I had and prompt with the quote. His employee was fantastic as well. You could tell He took pride in what he did as he looked over things and made sure everything was just right. In one occasion it rained lightly, just enough to hinder the quality and they made sure to redo it so it was well done. Highly recommend.

Common questions

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes, and there is no obligation attached to one. Somebody comes out, looks at the job, talks through what it needs, and gives you a written number before anything is scheduled. If you would rather start without an appointment, the estimate form takes photographs and we can tell you what the job involves from those.

What kind of painting work do you take on?

Interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet refinishing and repainting, and deck painting and staining, for homes and for businesses. Drywall repair and power washing come with that work rather than being sold separately. Commercial work is available in two of our three markets.

How long does a painting project take?

A smaller interior job is often a day or two. A full exterior or a whole-house repaint usually runs to several days, and cabinet work adds time because the doors and drawer fronts are taken off to be prepared and sprayed. You get a timeline with your estimate, before the work starts.

What paint do you use?

Sherwin-Williams products. Which line depends on the surface and where it is, and that is part of what the estimate covers rather than something decided on the day.

What preparation is included before you paint?

Most of what makes a paint job last happens before the first coat. Interiors: furniture moved clear and covered, flooring protected, walls inspected and patched, anything not being painted masked off. Exteriors: power washed and treated with TSP, loose paint scraped, exposed wood primed and caulked. It is part of the job, not an extra line.

Can I send photographs instead of booking a visit?

Yes. The estimate form takes up to five photographs, and a picture of the wall, the cabinets or the elevation you are worried about settles in one message what a phone call goes round in circles on. Photographs cannot finish the job of pricing it, so the visit still produces the figure you can hold us to, but they are the fast way to start.

Ready for a free, no-obligation estimate?

Tell us what you need painted and we will come and look at it. Free, and there is nothing to sign.
