Impact Painting of South Bend is the northern Indiana half of a family-owned painting company. It is where the business started, it is the busiest of our three areas, and it has its own phone number and its own crew.

Who you are dealing with

A small company, which is the point. The person who quotes your job is not in a call center in another state, the crew that turns up is the crew that was described to you, and if something is wrong there is nobody to be transferred to.

  • David, district manager at Impact Painting. David District Manager
  • Enrique, professional painter at Impact Painting. Enrique Professional Painter

Photographs of the team are being taken and will replace the marks above. We would rather show an honest placeholder than a stock photograph of people who do not work here.

How a job runs here

Most of what makes a paint job last happens before the first coat, and almost none of it is visible afterwards, which is exactly why it is the part that gets cut.

Outside, that means power washing and treating surfaces with TSP, scraping back what is no longer bonded, and priming and caulking exposed wood before anything is applied. In this climate that step is the job: water gets behind a coat, freezes, and lifts it a little further every winter, so preparation is what decides whether you are repainting in ten years or in three.

Inside, it means moving and covering furniture, protecting the floor, and repairing walls properly, with patches sanded and primed instead of painted over. Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are removed, carefully prepared, and sprayed in a controlled setting before being reinstalled, which is how they come back without brush marks. We use Sherwin-Williams products.

What we will and will not take on

Interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, deck painting and staining, and commercial work for premises around South Bend. Drywall repair comes with the interior work when a wall needs it; it is preparation rather than something we sell on its own.

What we will not do is take a job we cannot schedule properly or quote one we have not seen. If the honest answer at the estimate is that the siding needs a carpenter before it needs a painter, that is the answer you get, and it is better to hear it standing in the driveway than with the ladders already up.

What you can hold us to

Every estimate is free and carries no obligation: we come and look at the job, talk through what it needs, and give you a number before anything starts. We leave the property as we found it, and we walk the finished work with you before we pack up. Anything you are not happy with, we put right.

One-year satisfaction guarantee. Our painting work carries a one-year satisfaction guarantee.

Who does the work

The South Bend crew

South Bend has its own crew: the same people on the jobs around here, rather than a team sent in for the week.

Impact painting did a wonderful job they were very communicative and thorough in their work 100% recommend!! Additional thoughts: Well it's been 5 weeks or so since completion and it's amazing the transformation. My wife and I comment to each other it's like a brand new house. Impact did a phenomenal job repairing some old plaster prior to painting. We're definitely pleased we went with them!

David is reliable, affable and affordable. I have continued to ask him to work on most of the painting projects in my house. If you want a local guy, he is very good value.

I highly recommend Impact Painting! Luke was very responsive when it came to all of my emails full of questions and concerns. He made sure everything was organized and set to go. David did a wonderful job looking at the rooms we wanted painted, the color, etc, and communicating that back to Luke. Todd & Kevin did marvelous work prepping and painting our home! We had swiss cheesed our walls due to hanging a ton on the walls, along with random cat scratches – and now, you can't even tell those were ever there! We're super impressed with how smoothly the whole process was!!

Common questions

Do you offer painting services in South Bend, IN?

Yes. We handle interior, exterior, cabinet and deck painting for homes and businesses across South Bend and the communities around it, including Mishawaka and Granger.

Do you provide free painting estimates in South Bend?

Yes, and there is no obligation attached. Somebody comes out, looks at the job, talks through what it needs, and gives you a number before anything is booked.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes, and there is no obligation attached to one. Somebody comes out, looks at the job, talks through what it needs, and gives you a written number before anything is scheduled. If you would rather start without an appointment, the estimate form takes photographs and we can tell you what the job involves from those.

What kind of painting work do you take on?

Interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet refinishing and repainting, and deck painting and staining, for homes and for businesses. Drywall repair and power washing come with that work rather than being sold separately. Commercial work is available in two of our three markets.

How long does a painting project take?

A smaller interior job is often a day or two. A full exterior or a whole-house repaint usually runs to several days, and cabinet work adds time because the doors and drawer fronts are taken off to be prepared and sprayed. You get a timeline with your estimate, before the work starts.

What paint do you use?

Sherwin-Williams products. Which line depends on the surface and where it is, and that is part of what the estimate covers rather than something decided on the day.

Ready for a free, no-obligation estimate?

Tell us what you need painted and we will come and look at it. Free, and there is nothing to sign.
